What you need to know..
Your lessons will be tailored to meet your specific musical goals and interests. Whether you are wanting to study just for fun and personal enjoyment, or to also prepare for AMEB exams. I will support you to achieve your goals and assist you in deepening your musical understanding & developing proficiency on your chosen instrument. Lessons may include learning repertoire, technique, aural training and music theory.
At your lesson:
Please arrive punctually for your scheduled lesson. Due to my teaching timetable constraints, lessons are unable to be extended for late arrivals.
Tuition weeks:
Lessons are available on a weekly basis during the FOUR school terms. Parents/students can choose between a total of 8 & 10 lessons per term (by arrangement with me). There is a minimum commitment of ONE term, (8 lessons). Lessons are invoiced at the start of each term.
Mid-term enrolments are accepted based on availability.
Illness:
If you are unwell and unable to attend your lesson, please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule. Parents are advised not to send unwell children to lessons.
Cancellations / Missed Lessons:
If a student cancels a lesson with at least 24 hours’ notice a catch-up credit lesson will be arranged.
Enrolling in lessons by the term reserves a specific lesson time each week. Lessons, cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in the lesson being forfeited. In the event I may need to change or cancel a lesson, it will either be rescheduled, credited to the next term, or refunded.
Music & other resources:
I will recommend music books and other resources. Please bring a notebook to all lessons to record additional lesson notes and homework/practice notes.
School & Public Holidays:
Lessons times may on occasion be available during holiday periods for additional exam preparation, extra exam rehearsals or catch-up credit lessons as needed.
Adult students:
Adult students may be offered the option to schedule longer (1 hour) fortnightly lessons instead of the standard weekly lessons. This will be by arrangement and subject to my timetable availability.
